The police are blocking the streets to prevent family members of the missing passengers from going to the Blue House, the executive office and the official residence of the South Korean president.
Approximately at this time, all broadcasting stations of South Korea simultaneously stopped reporting newsflashes of the Sewol Ferry incident, although they were scheduled to continuously update its viewers with new information. This is concerning because what the viewers see on television does not correspond with the actual situation.
The family members of the missing passengers are frustrated and angered about how the government has been handling the incident. The decision to go to the Blue House was unanimously agreed upon by the families of the missing passengers. However, instead of help they were met with police cars blocking the roads. At present, the families are heading to the Blue House, literally, on foot.
Panicked, one of the authorities claimed that this action was unnecassary, and stated that 30 victims could still be saved. This only further incensed the families of the missing passengers, because since the day of the accident they have been coddled with false promises, and endless reports laden with misinformation.
Major broadcasting stations of South Korea are keeping quiet about this escalation of conflict between the families of the Sewol Ferry victims and governmental authorities. Please help us let this injustice be known, if not within Korea, at least to the world.
