Hey everyone, I’m Final Draft, one of the co-founders of Everfree Network, and I have a…. final announcement to make.

After over a year of careful consideration I and the other staff of Everfree Network have conclusively decided to shut down EFN, effective January 1, 2015.

I want to stress that this decision was in no way based on any drama, financial concern, or other conspiracy, but instead it reflects our collective need for the time and energy to focus on newer, bigger, and better projects.

In September of 2011 OneTrick, EightTrack, Nash, Socks, and more emerged from an IRC chatroom with the simple purpose of looking at the fandom from a new, fresh angle: a perspective outside the existing establishment, something unnatural. Everfree Radio was born.

We started with a podcast, and from there we conducted some of the first interviews with MLP: FiM show staff, and in January 2012 we started livestreaming conventions. We gained other shows, developed more, and grew to encompass an active staff of 45 dedicated volunteers whose only goal was producing the best media for the fandom.

But the fandom of 2014 is not the same as the fandom of 2011, and while we’ve cherished all the support we’ve recieved, we’ve also weathered death threats, hate mail, doxing, harrassment, and more. We’ve had our highs and our lows, and through it all we learned the ins and outs of digital media production.

Our group is strong, and we’re ready to take on the challenge of broadcasting our own material to a broader audience. But we will never forget our incredible listeners and viewers. Your support got us this far.

Everfree Radio, our popular audio station will live on on a new site run by an entirely new crew –Canterlot Hill. Our YouTube channel will remain, and some shows will continue to post to it. Your favorite shows will let you know their plans, whether it’s to venture out on their own or to move elsewhere.

As for me, I’ll be around, and I’ll still be working with a few conventions here and there. Many of the….former….EFN crew and I are going to be developing Poison Joke Productions. Look for updates from us soon!

EFN’s primary purpose, above all else, was to foster the natural creativity of the Brony fandom, and we sincerely hope we’ve done that.
