I was born in Ham-kyung-buk-do in December 12th 1920. One day on June when I was 13… I was going out to draw water in order to prepare lunch for my parents farming work. At that time, one Japanese soldier kidnapped me. My parents wouldn’t know anything about what was going to happen to me. I was taken to a resident office and got raped. As I screamed, they kept doing that after thrusting socks into my mouth. As I cried, the officer punched my left eye, then my left eye couldn’t see anymore after that. About 10 days later, I was moved to a military barrack. There were around 400 young little girls of Chosun, and we had to deal with 5,000 Japanese soldiers everyday. Even one day, I was allocated 40 soldiers in a day. When I resisted, they beat me black & blue, and put rags into my mouth. One of them scratched a match on my V until I obeyed. Blood came out of the bottom. One girl asked Japanese soldiers. “Why must we encounter over 40 soldiers in a day?” Then the commander ordered as a punishment, “Cut off her head.” In front of us seeing her, the girl was tied up hands & feet, naked and rolled on a board with nails until the blood covered all over her body. Eventually, he chopped off her head. The commander Yamamoto said, “Killing you girls is easier than killing dogs!” “As you are crying for hunger, cook the bodies and eat it.” Another girl was infected with sexual disease by many times of rapes, and over 50 soldiers were infected. In order to prevent the spread, they put a heated iron stick into her V. One day, they carried us on a truck and brought to puddle where snakes lived in. And let us fall into the puddle, buried us alive. One Japanese general said, “If you distribute your body to Japanese empire, you can be kindly treated!” We had to encounter 10 to 15 soldiers in a night. And got pregnant… They lifted out our wombs with fetus at once. Because of Japan, I couldn’t have a baby anymore. When I am alone, I shed tears because of the old memory. In that year, August 27th, one soldier with a sword asked. “Who is the one that can deal with 100 of soldiers?” Some girls that didn’t raise their hands were killed as an example & warning. They grabbed the women’s head & feet and rolled the bodies on a board covered with nails. The blood gushed out like a fountain and the skin was tattered on the board. I felt like sky and ground were upside down. And then, the soldiers chopped off one of the women’s head who had already dead on the board. As the commander saw us crying over, he said, “You are crying because you want to eat some meat.” The soldiers boiled the chopped head in a pot. And threatened us to drink it by force. In December 1st 1933, an officer killed a woman by poking a metal stick to her womb. In the following year, one woman was murdered for spreading disease to an officer. As Japanese soldiers put heated steel bar into women’s wombs, and the women died instantly. Burnt flesh was dangling on the stick. Tattoos were carved throughout the whole body. The soldiers did tattoo on the women with an intention to kill them from the beginning. One Chinese man saw that the army threw them away at a distance, and took care of two women for 2 months, who hid after Japanese soldiers had disappeared. To a miracle, I could survive. “Mom… mother… father…” <The people who forget their history repeat the history again> <Quote Again> There's no future to the people who forget their history. I will never forget this till I die.
