Psy's "Gangnam Style" has spent three weeks atop the K-Pop Hot 100 chart and its music video is quickly approaching 30 million views on YouTube. Celebrating on the success, the South Korean rapper has unveiled a treat for all with a new version of his sensational hit featuring a fellow viral video star, Hyun-a of K-pop girl group 4Minute with "Oppa Is Just My Style."
Gone are the antics that caught everyone's attention in the original video as Psy and Hyun-a trade off verses and show off choreography in glossy music video sets. Hyun-a brings cute and bubbly feminine style to the track and video; a departure from the sexiness she showed in her group's most recent single "Volume Up." Psy makes sure to show his ridiculous personality as he crawls on the floor, moonwalks, and lays on the ground as Hyun-a and dancers boogie to what can be called the female version of "Gangnam Style." Not to worry though, everyone joins in on the horse riding dance move at the end of the video.
If "Oppa Is Just My Style" blows up like the original it would give Hyun-a even more exposure than she's already had worldwide. The music video to her solo single "Bubble Pop!" became a YouTube force as well earning over 31 million views to date. Watch it ≫
Psy is still at the top of Billboard's K-Pop Hot 100 chart, going on his third week atop. With a recent successful solo concert, continued exposure, and a new version of the hit single, it looks like "Gangnam Style" shows no sign of stopping, it looks like its truly been (and continues to be) a "Gangnam Style" summer.
