(Hebrews 9:14) How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

(Hebrews 9:15) And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

(Hebrews 9:16) For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

(Hebrews 9:17) For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

(Hebrews 9:18) Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.

(히브리서 9:14) 하물며 영존하시는 성령을 통하여 자신을 흠 없이 하나님께 바치신 그리스도의 피는 죽은 행위들에서 너희 양심을 깨끗이 씻어 내어 얼마나 더 살아 계신 하나님을 섬기도록 하겠느냐?

(히브리서 9:15) 그런즉 이런 까닭에 그분께서는 새 유언 언약의 중재자로 계시니, 첫 유언 언약 하에 있던 불법들의 구속을 위하여 죽으심으로써 부르심을 받는 자들이 영존하는 유산의 약속을 받게 하려 하심이라.

(히브리서 9:16) 이는 유언 언약이 있는 곳에는 그 유언자의 죽음 또한 필수적으로 있어야 하기 때문이라.

(히브리서 9:17) 이는 유언 언약은 사람들이 죽은 뒤에야 효력이 있기 때문이라. 그렇지 않다면 그것은 그 유언자가 살아 있는 동안에 전혀 영향력이 없느니라.

(히브리서 9:18) 그 때문에 첫 유언 언약 또한 피 없이 봉헌되지 아니하였느니라.
